Mickey AKA Amuaray
A Touch O Magic DOB 30th March
2000 Favourite past time -
looking at my mums eyes. Dreams -
to look at my mums eyes all day Best
day ever - waking up every day with my mum
Claim to fame - 31 agility titles in 2
countries and 7 of those are masters titles in all of the major
leagues ( AKC, ANKC, NADAC and ADAA).
Best Friend - His sister Molly who has recently passed
away If you have ever been unsure of
love at first sight I can tell you that it is possible and
happened to Mick and I. I was really wanting a tri colour
male as my next dog and to give me the best chance of selecting
the right dog we breed 2 litters to the same sire to see what we
would get. Little did we know that both litters were to be
born 1 day apart and we had a total of 13 puppies to choose from
(11 tri's and one Blenheim). Mickey came to my attention
at 3 weeks of age and from the moment he was able to walk he was
my shadow. Not the nicest puppy in the litter but against
all advice, I had to keep him as I just could not put my finger
on it as to why. That was the best decision I have made in
my life.

Later I was to find out what it is really like to
run a dream dog and to literally run as one in the agility ring. Mick knew me
inside and out and I knew him the same way. We knew each other
moves and that started the most remarkable team relationship
that would achieve so much. During our times together we have
met some remarkable people and trained with some simply amazing
dogs especially in San Diego. I can not ever remember
having so much fun when training as I did with my training class
and the result of that is many wonderful friendships that will
continue to the end of time. The thing about Mick was that he
just had this amazing on switch when he ran. He would
hang like a rag dog in my arms up to the line, I would put him on the
ground and bang - lights were on ( and someone was home!).
Even at the age of almost 9 he was still gaining Masters jumping
times in ANKC which is not the easiest thing to do let alone at
that age. Mick travelled with us to the US and back and
enjoyed his time over there especially in the snow in CT.
Here is link to a Movie we made of Mickey and Molly in the snow
and this is how we will always remember them having fun and
enjoying life.
"Snow Cav
Movie"

Mick has since retired in early 2009 and although
he has had this remarkable career, I can hardly remember any of
it. What I do remember most about Mick is his many Mickey
moment (or Mike moments as they are known) and the funny things he does. He loves life, he loves
me and is so comfortable in his skin. I have truly been
blessed to be given such an opportunity to own and compete with
this angel of a dog. He is my once is a life time dog that
I enjoy being with so much that I will have a hard time
measuring any of the others up to him.
Natalie here are
some typical "Mike" moments

here is one day at the office for Mick and the typical results of one
days competitions in the USA for him

Mickey at Cleanrun camp in Virginia, USA ( me in the red/black
coat and Mickey is on the chair). It actually snowed this
day while we were outside training and this was out elective
called "You can run with the big dogs" with Dana Pike.
