Benny
AKA "Beejit", "B" or "Engie
Benjy"
DOB May 27th 2006
Breed - RSPCA special
Favourite games - balls,
balls and balls - oh and Frisbees and anything else that moves
Dreams - to one day be
able to be the agility dog that I look like!
Best friend - My dad (and
anyone with a ball - or food) - and mum - when she has a ball.
Benny came to live with us quiet by accident in 2007. We
stumbled across him at the RSPCA in Nowra when we went to
donate some dog food that Maverick and Mickey had won at an
agility trial. Somehow we took the food in and walked out
with a dog and a non pure breed at that! quiet out of
character for us. We don't know what type of breeding he
is but he is so much fun and a great member of the Winter
family. He has the ability to get all of us to play with
him whether we want to or not and really brings a smile to all
of our faces. He had patella surgery on his leg in 2008
and has since started his agility career. He is built like
a real speed demon but apparently his brain does not wish to
compete with his body and his progress is very slow. Okay
- he has the motivation of a dish rag and will really test my
ability as a trainer - and we cant wait!

Ben landed on his feet when we found him that's for sure and
I hope you enjoy seeing what his life now composes of compared
to being on the streets and impounded at the pound and RSPCA.
Actually, Ben is the dog I used in my book for demonstrations as
he is perfectly build for it and comes along as a model dog when
I do presentations. We will be forever indebted to the
RSPCA for saving his life and $1 from all of my books sold go
directly to the RSPCA to help save the lives of dogs like Ben.
If you had of said to me 3 years ago that I would have a rescue
dog I would have laughed and although the road has been very
long in certain parts, yes, I will go down that road again as
its so rewarding. So look at your local shelter before you
buy a dog as you never know what the dog god has planned for
you.
